17. #womenwriters #readwomen Helen Moffett recommends…

‘Just ONE?!? I’ve edited so many lovely ones, I’ll have to take refuge in history: Persuasion, by Jane Austen. An autumnal account of the realities of the marriage market for women; the fairytale ending highlights the plight of so many single educated women of that time – and reminds us that in many parts of the world, very little has changed.’

StrayedHelen’s latest book will be launched at Open Book Festival in October: Stray: An anthology of animal stories and poems, edited by Helen Moffett and Diane Awerbuck, published by Modjaji

Helen is also working on her next poetry collection, with the provisional title Found and Lost.
